Youth clubs meet representative of European Confederacy of Youth Clubs

The Croatian Youth Network organized a meeting of representatives of several Croatian youth clubs and Annina Hirvonen, General Secretary of the European Confederation of Youth Clubs, in Zagreb on Wednesday, 18 February. ECYC is is a European network of youth work and youth club organisations that practice and promote Open Youth Work and Non-formal Learning. Today, ECYC has 28 member organisations in 27 European countries and its member organisations reach more than 2, 2 million young people in Europe.
One of ECYC's priorities in the upcoming period is to develop cooperation in South-East European countries which do not have ECYC member organizations. The goal of the meeting was to acquaint Croatian youth clubs with the work of ECYC and to present an overview of the youth club sector in Croatia to the ECYC representative with the purpose of developing potential cooperation in the future. Representatives of youth clubs emphasized the importance of national cooperation with a perspective of forming a national structure. Annina Hirvonen expressed the commitment of ECYC to support Croatian youth clubs through the transfer of knowledge and information and the support in finding European partners.
The Croatian Youth Network wishes to encourage and support to cooperation and networking of youth clubs in the country and announces a meeting of all interested parties in near future. The exact time and location of the meeting will be announced at a later time.
